There has been a major increase in the number of leopards entering residential areas, in and around Mumbai in recent years.
According to media reports, a leopard entered a residential complex Raheja heights in Dindoshi, Malad and killed a stray dog.
The leopard leaped over the security cabin at night and entered the residential complex which has more than 1000 people living in it
The area is close to the Sanjay Gandhi National park, which has approximately 30 leopards in it.
Leopards are entering residential areas mainly for catching stray dogs which they eat.
Children have been told to remain at home in the area.
